The headlights on the 1987 F150 pickup were looking very cloudy and in need of restoring. Headlights before restorationHowever, I never tried any type of restoration on any plastic before. There are many headlight restoration kits available so I was sure I could do something to make the headlights and taillights look better. Choosing which kit to use and how much work was involved was the issue. In the end I settled on the least expensive and easiest, knowing that if I was not pleased with the results I could always upgrade to the next level.
Headlights after restorationWhat I chose to use was Meguiar’s G12310 PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish – 10 oz. The application process was straight forward (“wax on, wax off”), and the results were simply amazing. The work and time was minimal making the restoration process quite an enjoyable undertaking. I highly recommend giving this product a try. After all, you can always take the process to the next level if the results are less than expected.
